Nerevar's Quest - Part 2

I left the lighthouse and decided to see what that trader had in stock.

I sold him the shoes I couldn't wear and bought a cuirass to protect myself a bit.

The road went in two directions. I've heard of Vivec, the largest city on the island, so I decided to go there. In any case, it's the same direction as Balmora.

Another fork, but I kept towards Vivec and Balmora.

I spotted a small creature and decided to sneak past it.

At first I succeeded, but it spotted me as I tried to read the signposts and I was forced to dispatch it with my knife and a simple fire spell.

This time, the fork led me away from Balmora. I'll go there some day, maybe.

On the road I met a man named Nels. He claimed to be dangerous, but seemed very interested in me. He asked kindly for a kiss, and I gave it to him not wanting trouble. I figure I should avoid trouble from guys who like to kiss giant lizards.

I kept walking, going past various creatures including a farm of large, floating, squid creatures. Very strange. I eventually came to Vivec. The city is constructed on several platforms sitting on the water, with the closest one being the Foreign Quarter. I decided to see what was at the top.

I walked up the tunnels that lead to higher levels.

I saw a nice view of some other platforms.

I went up some stairs and entered the plaza. I spotted a building for the local chapter of the Mages' Guild and decided to check it out.

I met a woman who thought I would fit in, and asked me if I wanted to join. I contemplated my decision. So what do you think, guys? Should I join the Mages' Guild?

Nerevar's Quest - Part 1

After a mysterious vision, I awoke in the hull of a gently swaying ship.

A strange looking Dunmer asked me my name, and I told him it was Nerevar.

A man told me to follow him, and still feeling strange, I obeyed.

I opened the hatch and saw a world very unlike the one I had come from.

He asked where I was from. I am a proud Argonian of the Black Marsh.

Inside, a Breton asked me many questions.

This is the class I finally settled on.

It was close with the Tower and the Sign, but if I really need to be invisible, I have Alteration.

And this is our character.

On my way out, I grabbed a knife off the table. It should be fine until I get something better.

For some reason, I felt compelled to check the nearby barrel, and found a magic ring.

Status screen with map, magic, equipment, and stats.

An Imperial gave me a bit of money and a package for a man named Caius in Balmora. I am supposed to go see him, but that doesn't interest me at the moment.

Journal with quest information.

Outside, a Bosmer told me about his missing ring. I showed him the one I found, and he thanked me for it, and said he'd tell the local trader how nice I was.

I spotted a lighthouse and decided to see the view from the top.

There's not much to this quaint little town, but it's where my quest begins. I'll go next wherever the road takes me.

Not much to this update, just getting started. I'll try to post a new part about twice a week.

Insert Coin, Player Two

The creation process has begun for the second character. After we decide what he/she shall be, I will commence playing him/her on a more regular schedule than Hargoth. The style will be a bit different too, heavier on images and writing things as they happen instead of recapping after a day's over. The updates will be posted both here and on that board. We'll see how this goes.

Hargoth's Adventure - Day 17

2 Hearthfire

After some more dreams about the man with the golden mask, I woke up ready for the long journey to see the Ashlanders. Caius told me to head north to Maar Gan and then get more specific instructions from there to reach Urshilaku camp. I hadn't been there yet, so I decided to take a Silt Strider to Ald'ruhn and then walk from there to learn the lay of the land better. When I arrived in the city there was another strong sandstorm blowing, but I toughed it out and trekked north. I was attacked by numerous diseased creatures on the way, and had to use a potion to get rid of some Blight before it got bad. Before too long though, I made it to the town of Maar Gan.

Looking around town to see what was up, a Dunmer woman named Assi stopped me and starting telling me about Dagoth Ur, just like the man in Balmora. I shook her off and tracked down Nuleno Tedas at the outpost for directions. She told me to follow a ravine to the coast to find a beached ship, and then swim to the east to find some Daedric ruins. The camp would be east of there. I thanked her for the help, but it was a little late and I was weak from fighting, so I decided to spend tonight at the tradehouse, which has some beds. Short update today, I'm going to start a new character tomorrow for a Let's Play. I'll post with more details.
